The white mud with a hint of green is a commonly used material in Jingdezhen. It is untreated and presents the original delicate touch of porcelain. The unglazed treatment highlights the uniqueness of the Jingdezhen materials and craftsmanship, expressing the "locality" of the place of origin.

- The CYLINDER teapot and cup are made from fine Jingdezhen porcelain, crafted through traditional artisanal techniques rather than industrial mass production. When fired at temperatures over 1300 degrees Celsius, all lead and cadmium are thoroughly vitrified, leaving a non-toxic enamel. While not as precisely uniform as machine-made wares, slight blemishes can occur and are considered a normal part of the handcrafted process.

Additionally, Jingdezhen's humid climate may on occasion cause minor surface pores or enamel bumps due to moisture, which are likewise normal characteristics.

Birthmark is a brand that focuses on daily, experimental, and functional products. In 2007, it started exploring traditional ceramic making in Jingdezhen. In 2008, it began a series of experiments on daily utensils. In 2009, it delved into the art of hand-blown glass. In 2014, it officially launched.

The brand emphasizes the locality of the place of origin, materials, and craftsmanship. Every material has its unique characteristics, which are also reflected through its birthmarks.

The best way to understand utensils is through usage, and the style of usage also carries on the continuation of a lifestyle. Birthmark incorporates experimental elements into daily used utensils, allowing them to participate in various aspects of life, thereby infusing freshness into their usage experience.
Care Instructions
- Dishwasher safe.
- The unglazed surface areas have undergone a special treatment, making them smooth and easy to clean. However, for best results we still recommend cleaning shortly after use.
-For cleaning, a soft sponge or washcloth is all that is needed. Steel wool pads should be avoided, as these may damage the surface over time.
