Drawing inspiration from the simplicity and strength of ancient pottery, we find ourselves humbled by the challenge of creating something equally remarkable. With the help of our predecessors, we strive to find balance between tradition and innovation, shaping the future through reverence for the past.

Ceramic white spoonNail firing is a traditional technique in pottery making, where the pottery is supported by nails during firing. The nails are usually made of clay or tungsten wire, leaving marks on the fired pottery.
Ceramic white spoonNail firing is a technique commonly used in ancient pottery making for reducing friction between the pottery and the surface it sits on. It is often seen in southern celadon pottery from the period of the Northern and Southern Dynasties, and occasionally used in kilns like Ru kiln in the later dynasties.
Ceramic white spoonEach spoon has three nail marks on the bottom, and some spoons may have traces of tungsten wire. These are normal characteristics of nail firing, which should be considered carefully before purchasing.

Fujian spoons are hand-pressed, and the pressure applied by hand may vary, resulting in some spoons having hand marks. This is a normal phenomenon, so please be cautious if you mind.

Rong represents the feeling of immersion in life,
Bai symbolizes the purity refined from simplicity.

Founded in 2016 in Jingdezhen, Rong Bai Studio has embarked on a journey of exploring the integration of ceramic materials and the creation of functional objects. Through continuous exploration between materials, techniques, and design, they seek to find the blank canvas that seamlessly blends into contemporary life. Their focus is to deeply understand the lifestyles of today, and from there, design vessels that suit modern living.
The studio is divided into two directions: handmade and design. The flexibility of handmade work brings forth endless possibilities, where these possibilities may become the foundation for their next design. Rationality in design allows them to carry out the intentions of handmade work more seamlessly.

They place great importance on the study of material properties. They constantly experiment with new techniques, processes, and material combinations to embrace the unexpected surprises that come with the inherent instability of ceramics. The ideal approach is to match appropriate techniques with suitable vessels. Rong Bai is born out of our perception of life.
