The cup and the dish are meticulously crafted using two artisanal techniques - throwing and shaping for its form, and hand-dipping glazing for its finish.

Craft Introduction - Throwing and Shaping

Throwing is a method of shaping clay using a pottery wheel and the force of rotation combined with hand movements. It is also known as wheel throwing. This technique utilizes the centrifugal force generated by the spinning wheel and combines it with the hands to control and compress the clay, taking advantage of the characteristics of the clay and the interaction between hands and the machine. Various shapes, including hollow and thin-walled vessels, can be formed through this method.

Craft Introduction - Hand-dipping Glazing

Dipping glaze is one of the ceramic glazing techniques, also known as "engobe glaze". It involves immersing the pottery into the glaze for a moment, allowing the glaze slurry to adhere to the surface of the pottery through its water-absorbing properties. The thickness of the glaze layer is controlled by the pottery's water-absorbing properties, glaze concentration, and immersion time. This technique is suitable for applying outer glaze to thick-bodied pottery and cups and bowls made by high-temperature firing.
Dipping glaze is a safer alternative to spraying glaze. We preserve the natural flow patterns of the glaze surface produced by each dipping technique, making each piece unique. Please be aware of slight variations in each piece and consider before placing an order.

- Glaze: Vintage Yellow
- Material: Coarse Pottery Clay (Fired at 1250°C)

As the deer longs for the flowing stream and rests by the waterside.
Riverside embodies a state of life and work that is healthy and natural. They carry on and embody the ethos of Mù Mò - "engaging in manual labor and taking charge of our own work". They emphasize the importance of hands-on work, encouraging individuals to touch the clay, explore its properties, and establish a close connection with nature's elements. Ultimately, their creations are meant to be utilized in daily life.
Care Instructions
- For the initial use of pottery items, it is recommended to soak them in tea water to seal the pores. Avoid infusing them with oil or strong smells when used to serve dishes.
- Avoid exposing them to rapid temperature changes, as it could cause the pottery to contract dramatically, leading to cracks or breakage.
- Oven, Dishwasher, Microwave safe.
